How to determine the age of your tires
Look for the DOT information on the tire. Go to the end of the writing and you should see a 3 or 4 digit number. The First 2 digits are the week of the year it was made and the last 1 or 2 digits are the year in which the tire was produced.
i.e. 519 would mean the tire was made the 51st week of 1999
5206 would mean the tire was made the 52nd week of 2006
It is recommended that you replace your tires every 6 years or depending on the condition of the tire.
Any number with 3 digits would mean the tire was produced in a non specific decade prior to 2000. That means the tires could be from the 90's, 80's, 70's & possible older.
Any 4 digit number means the tire was produced on or after the year 2000.
